An expansive dining space beautifully furnished. I was not impressed with service – it was hard to catch the eyes of the waiters who seemed more interested in preening themselves than keeping their clients well served. The degustation menu of french inspired sharing plates was good although not great (and some dishes had got cold by the time they got to our table) when compared to other Melbourne offerings and certainly not to the standard of its parent, Maze in Mayfair London of Gordon Ramsay fame – perhaps Gordon is over-extending himself!
Be aware that one of the hazards of eating in venues at the Melbourne Crown Casino are the many young children making a fuss or running between the tables, waiting on parents hell bent on eating, dumping their kids and rushing off to the gambling hall. Not my scene.
