Sisko: For the serious chocolate addict

Christina Tantsis, a wonderfully creative chocolate artisan,  has been operating her chocolate business Sisko (in Hawthorn) for 2 years. Sisko is not so strange a name given the 7 year sabbatical she took in San Francisco, where she decided to switch career from a florist to a chocolatier, before returning to Melbourne.  And Melbourne is better for it!

The curvature Sisko uses is ‘single origin’ Spanish and is at the premium end – smooth and strong –  the way chocolate is meant to taste. And certainly unlike the sickly sweet Belgian style of curvature found in other chocolate shops in Melbourne.

Her skills as a florist have not gone wasted. Influenced by the floral inspirations from her past life, Christina, owner and founder, creates wonderful large and small edible sculptures, table centres, exquisite edible ornaments and favours for major events.  On the retailing side of her business, she has the unique flat egg decorated with stunning and whimsical designs, that stand out among other chocolate makers in town.

All chocolates are made on the premises and you can tell not just by the taste but by the bustle of activity out the back.

This is an adults only chocolate shop for serious lovers of good chocolate.
